Data River
Data River artistically visualizes and sonifies data from production lines of the new 4.0 factory. Created in collaboration with Electrolux Italia at the Susegano facility.
Specifications.
The LED wall installation updates every 15 minutes with real-time production data. The objective of the artistic intervention is to emphasize the centrality of human experience, reshaping the concept of data use and visualization: values and numbers that come from production lines do not flow into a readable graph, but give shape to an abstract artistic image that regenerates in real time. The result is a constantly transforming pictorial work, located in an acoustically protected area, that breathes and resonates in a continuous flow, able to generate a sense of peace comparable to that which can arise from observing natural phenomena.
How it was built.
A linear flow — research to install — of the phases that shaped the final piece.
Data Pipeline Design
Connected directly to factory data streams to understand the rhythm and patterns of production. Built a robust real-time pipeline capable of processing millions of data points while maintaining visual fluidity.
Visual Language Development
Transform cold factory production data into an emotionally resonant artistic experience. The goal was to make data feel alive - breathing and flowing like a natural phenomenon.
Installation & Calibration
Installed and calibrated the LED wall system for optimal viewing in the factory environment, ensuring the visualization maintains its artistic quality across all lighting conditions.
